Under A Lover’s Sky
“Mark what do you want to do on this warm summer night?” ask Elizabeth as she finished drying a plate that Mark handed her.
“I'm not sure. What would you like to do?” replied Mark as he dried his hands on a towel.
“I’d like to go for a walk down by the lake. Rachel said earlier that she’d be glad to watch Ella for a couple of hours. Please, Mark?” begged Elizabeth as she dried her hands and followed Mark into the living room where Rachel was playing peek-a-boo with Ella.
“Hey, Rachie, do you mind watching Ella for an hour or so, while Elizabeth and I go for a walk?” asked Mark as he looked at Rachel sincerely.
“Sure, no problem Dad. Ella and I have some catching up to do anyway.” replied Rachel without even looking up from the game of peek-a-boo.
“Okay, we’ll be back soon. You know where the numbers are incase something happens. You can page us, if you have too.” assured Mark over his shoulder as he walked out the front door.
“Okay have fun you two!” shouted Rachel as she stood in the door way and watched those two love birds walk down the street before shutting and locking the front door behind her.
Time Lapse: 20 minutes
Mark and Elizabeth were walking hand in hand down the sidewalk by the water.
“Elizabeth, look up at the stars. Aren’t they beautiful?” asked Mark as he stopped and looked at the stars.
“ Oh, Mark, they’re always beautiful, just like you.” said Elizabeth as she kissed Mark on his cheek and looked deeply into his eyes.
There those two were, smiling at each other, standing under a lover’s sky.
