SUMMARY: what if a car accident allowed Sandy to read Kerry's mind?

The last thing Sandy remembered was driving down the dimly lit city streets of Chicago. She had been dreaming about the feisty redhead who turned the tables and bossed her around in the field. It had been love at first sight and she was so glad that the so- called "Dr. Weaver" had asked her out.
Sandy was driving down the road and listening to a song that completely spoke her thoughts with absolutely no effort but some singing along from her.

"Come my lady
Come, come my lady
You're my butterfly
Sugar baby
Such a sexy, sexy pretty little thing
Fierce nipple pierce you got me sprung with your tongue ring
And I ain't gonna lie cause your loving gets me high
So to keep you by my side, there's nothing that I won't try
Butterflies in her eyes and the looks to kill
Time is passing I'm asking could this be real?
Cause I can't sleep, I can't hold still
The only thing I really know is she got sex appeal
I can feel, too much is never enough
You're always there to lift me up when these times get rough
I was lost, now I'm found
Ever since you've been around
You're the women that I want
So, yo I'm putting it down
Come my lady
Come, come my lady
You're my butterfly
Sugar baby
Come my lady
Yo my pretty baby
I'll make your legs shake
You make me go crazy…"

All of a sudden her thoughts and singing were cut off by a loud, long honk. The dark shadow of a pickup truck got into her face and everything went black.
"You just hang in there, San. We're going to get you out of here. OK?" said Jeffries as her used the "jaws" to pry the mangled door to Sandy's little red Mazda open.
"Ugh, oh." Sandy groaned still completely unconscious.

Kerry Weaver sat in her office listening to a CD that her dear friend Randi had burned for her. The most perfect song to say what she was feeling came on and she began to sing along without a care in the world…
"I'm dreaming of one kiss from you
A love long and true
We'll go on and on and.

I don't wanna hear that I'm too young
To know it's love that makes me feel this way
'Cause I don't have to feel the heat of the sun
To know it's shining on me every day
When it's warm outside
And the look in your eyes
Is longing to show me the way
I don't want to wait

Just one kiss from you, and suddenly
I see the road laid out in front of me
You give me strength, you give me hope,
And when you hold me in your arms
You make me whole
And I don't know just what I would do
Without one kiss from you

I don't wanna hear my time will come
When it feels like it's already here
We should learn to walk before we run
But why go anywhere when you're so near
'Cause when I reach out to you
So sad and confused
And feeling like I could cry
You dry my eyes…"

Just as she was in mid verse her pager started to go off.
"Damn pager…" Kerry said out loud as she shut off the music. She was being paged down to the ER due to a nasty MVA.

The next thing Sandy knew she was lying in a hospital bed with wires and tubes all over her body. She tried to speak but couldn't. She only choked a bit until she realized that she had a small tube down her throat. Noting that to herself she looked around the room and when she turned her gaze back to herself she found a slightly stirring Kerry Weaver awakening from her position at the foot of her bed.
"Hey there. You gave me and your guys quite a scare." Kerry said as she migrated up to kiss Sandy on the forehead and check her vitals. As soon as Kerry's lips left her forehead she tried to let out a small whimper, but couldn't due to the tube.
"Sorry San, but we had to intubate you. Would you like that tube out now? Your stats look good so I can take it out for you. Nod yes if you want it out." Said Kerry tending to the gorgeous figure lying in the bed beside her.
Sandy immediately nodded yes and Kerry began the process of taking the tube out.
"Don't try to talk yet. Drink this and then you can whisper. K?"
Sandy drank a bit and then proceeded to talk with Kerry.
"What the heck happened? I was listening to the radio, heard honking, saw a pickup truck, and then everything just kind of went black."
"You were in a bad car accident. The other driver is in custody for DUI and has some pretty nasty lacerations. You on the other hand are fine, with the exception of some minor lacerations and a few cracked ribs."
"That's a relief," Sandy said getting a strange feeling in her gut.

Three days later…

Sandy had not seen or heard from Kerry since she had left the hospital. She was due to go back to work to day and was praying that there was some remote possibility that she could help out a rig that would be venturing off to County General. Sure enough what happened a few hours later ended her up just where she wanted to be. Staring at the drop dead sexy Dr. Kerry weaver.
"Hey Dr. Weaver…" no reply came out of the redhead.
"Earth to Dr. Weaver!" said Sandy as she tapped Kerry's shoulder.
"Huh, oh… Sandy. Sorry I guess I didn't hear you."
'Come to think about it, why would I hear you? I was in the middle of some erotic and impure thoughts... involving Y-O-U.'
"I guess I can be kind of stealthy like that." Sandy said with a chuckle.
Kerry began grazing Sandy over from head- to - toe unknowingly as she thought to herself…
'Damn, does this woman know exactly what she's got there. That is just way, way, way, to natural to be fake. A genuine woman, just how I like them.'
"You say something?" Sandy said as she cocked her head at Kerry.
"Umm, no. Look, meet me at Olive Garden at 7:00 and we'll have a date. OK?" Kerry said as she gave sandy a curious, yet strange look as she walked away shouting lab work orders at the nearby nurse named "Lydia".
"Sure, right! Olive Garden at 7. I'll be there." Sandy shouted at her as she let her mind "go at it" with all the possibilities for the night to come.

At Olive Garden…

An upbeat, love like, and down right erotic song played as Sandy sat at the bar nursing her Coors Light beer with lime waiting the extra half hour till her date would arrive. Sandy just hoped it would pass quickly.

"I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye and she got on a plane
Never to return again
But always in my heart

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I tried my best to feed her appetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied
Kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I'll fix these broken things
Repair your broken wings
And make sure everything's alright
My pressure on her hips
Sinking my fingertips
Into every inch of you
Cause I know that's what you want me to do"

Sandy Let impure thoughts invade her mind and drifted off into bliss, not realizing the redhead she was waiting for crutching through the wooden doors.
"Hey your early, not that I am complaining though, because I am absolutely starving." Kerry said to her clueless date.
"Oh gosh you scared me! But I will agree with you. I too am starving." Said Sandy in a seductive voice.
"Good thing I made reservations. This place is packed!" exclaimed Kerry as the migrated over to the register.
"Weaver… party of two." Said the redhead as the waitress promptly led them to their seats. Which were conveniently located in a booth near the small water fountain and Italian sculpture. The booth was somewhat hidden, so that had a bit more privacy than the rest of the buzzing dinnertime crowd.
'God I hope she doesn't notice that I am having her delicious body for my appetizer instead of the salad in front of me' thought Kerry. Sandy heard this and was startled by it because Kerry's lips were not moving at all. With that Sandy got up, politely excused herself, and headed to the bathroom.
When she reached the restroom she splashed water on her face and tried to calm herself down.
"Finally notice my little gift?" asked a small fairy- like creature that was discretely plopped on the soap dispenser.
"Who and what the hell are you?" asked Sandy with bug eyes.
"Why I am your guardian angel Cassandra and answer my question smart ass."
"Well would your "little gift" be the ability to hear Kerry Weaver's thoughts?"
"Umm hmm. Do you like it?"
"What do you think? It is freaking me out and I could appreciate it more if I could actually tell the difference between her thoughts and her words."
"That woman does have some corky thoughts and that is something you will have to take care of on your own." With that, the little fairy was gone, and Sandy was left alone on the bathroom to decide whether she could use this to her advantage or not.
