SUMMARY: Abby is a little upset about her AWOL
brother, and as soon as Carter appears, she, (and I)
lose all thought of her brother. He makes everything
better..*Aww*
You Make Me Forget
Abby didn't know what to think as the realization
that her baby brother Eric, was missing set in. Baby,
yeah right. He's a grown man, she thought. He's just
makes stupid, childish decisions. Her ever-flowing
thoughts didn't comfort Abby in the least. She needed
to talk to someone. Someone she could trust, who would
listen and not jump down her throat with plans. She
needed to talk to Carter.
John Carter. The thought of him sent shivers down her
back. She loved that man, she really did. It scared
her almost as much as not knowing where her AWOL
brother was, this love. She'd loved him since, well,
the first time she had seen him, her first day in the
ER. But that was years ago. Relationships had come and
gone, friends and lovers died, gone, some forgotten.
Now they were together, ever since that fateful
Smallpox outbreak. They weren't Smallpox, she
corrected herself. She didn't care what they had been,
she was just happy, in a morbid way, that 'they' had
brought her and Carter together.
Abby snapped painfully back to reality as she heard
the phone ringing in the next room of her apartment.
Running to answer it, she was not at all surprised to
find that it was, in fact, Carter.
"John! I was just about to call you, " Abby
exclaimed, amazed at how he seemed to have read her
mind.
"Its all about the ESP, Abby, " John answered,
laughter evident in his adorable voice, "But, I wanted
to make sure you were okay. I know you were pretty
shaken up by Eric tonight. The dinner, Jody, and all."
The laughing tone of voice had become more serious
with the subject change.
Wow. This man is amazing. He knows what I'm thinking
before I know. "Yeah. It was a lot to take in,
especially since we don't know where Eric, or Jody,
for that matter, is,", Abby sighed, having said that,
"I'm just really.. uh.confused, John."
"Oh, Abby. I know, I know it must have been so hard
for you, and I'm sorry, baby. Do you need company, or
do you just want to relax a little?"
Abby couldn't help but love the man more at this
moment than the last. He was so sweet, and she knew he
was as tired, if not more tired, than she was, having
just gotten off work. But, the thought of spending
time with him, even if it weren't intimate, which,
with how things had been lately, wasn't really a
possibility, was incredibly enticing. So enticing, in
fact, that she couldn't stop the words that escaped
her now eager lips next:
"Do I need company? Do I want company? More than
ever, in fact. I'll see you in a few minutes? ", She
asked, knowing his answer.
"I'll be there as soon as the traffic allows, Abby.
Until then, I love you."
"I love you too, John."
**A few minutes later, Abby hears his knock possibly
before he even delivers It.**
She anxiously throws the door open, smiling up at him
in the dim light cast by the apartment hall lights.
God, he's gorgeous.
"Been waiting long? " he laughingly asks, poking
slight fun at the immediate answering of the door.
"No, I was expecting the Chinese food delivery guy.
Its only you."
"Then I suppose I should leave, huh?"
"Oh, no you don't, "she smiled, pulling him in for a
short kiss on the lips. This seemingly 'short' kiss
turned into a longer, more passionate one, causing
Abby to pull back, gasping for air. Damn, she thought.
He looked down at her, smiling, staring into her
gorgeous brown eyes, his reflected in them. She
smiled, almost overwhelmed by the love she felt for
him, almost forgetting about Eric and Jody, almost
forgetting to breath. He smiled at her questioningly,
asking silently if she was really okay. She nodded.
She was okay now.
He leaned down, while she reached up, and kissed her.
She returned his kiss with hunger, a passion that
hadn't been there with anyone else he had ever kissed.
The spark that had been there in their first kiss in
the trauma room during the Quarantine was still there,
possibly stronger than ever. Realizing this, she
opened her eyes and smiled at him, doing the same
thing. He was probably thinking the same thing, she
thought, Amazing.
Realizing that he was standing there, eyes focused
solely on her now, she slowly began to run her fingers
through his soft, at times unruly, brown hair. She
loved his hair. She kissed him, working her fingers
through his hair, down his neck, and now over his
shoulders, fingering the soft almost silky material of
his windbreaker that he had yet to take off. Maybe I
should help him with that, she thought, devilishly.
She slowly unzipped his windbreaker, laughing at him
as he blushed, both realizing that they hadn't gotten
past the hall yet, a mere 4 feet from the front door
where she'd exuberantly let him in minutes before.
"I guess we got a little side tracked, huh? "He
asked, smirking; coyly, yet looking rather happy with
himself.
"Maybe a little, "she commented, her eyes and hands
never leaving his body.
"Abbs, are you going to tease me all night, or are
you going to let me take off my jacket and let us go,
at least, sit on the couch?"
"Well, now that you mention it, I wouldn't mind
teasing you all that much.. as for the couch, I say we
skip it and head on to the bedroom. What do you say?"
He needn't say anything; she had made up her mind.
She playfully, and seductively led him down the hall
to her bedroom, closing the door behind them.
**What went on behind that closed door, is left for
another chapter of this fan-fic, that is, if you all
liked this one enough to read a second. All I'll say
is that, behind that door, there were a few moans of
"Carter", and "Abby".And that the whole AWOL brother
and his hardly adult girlfriend was completely
forgotten, having started with the first thought of
John Carter. Isn't that love, folks?**
Author's Note: Thank you for reading this, I know, it
may not have been that good; I'm leaving that up to
you all. It was my first attempt, and, as you can see,
I am a huge Carby fan. I hope you enjoyed it, and
please review it, so I can know what you thought and
maybe continue writing! Thanks!
